On Wednesday, June 11th, downtown Hayward’s Dirty Bird of Paradise set the stage for our #WomenWednesday event. The night was a heartfelt celebration of inspiring women, creative energy, and community support—a truly memorable gathering that exceeded all expectations.

After weeks of dedicated promotions, it was exciting to see so many passionate women from our community come together. The venue buzzed with energy as attendees, many showcasing their jaw dropping style, gathered to share stories, ideas, to catch up and make new friends. As I scanned the room, it was refreshing to witness women who had never met before laughing together and forming connections that felt like the start of something much larger than the event itself.

The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the specialty cocktail, the “Forget-Me-Not.” Its unique blend was delightful and customizable with your liquor of choice. The Dirty Bird of Paradise and CJ generously donated two dollars for every specialty cocktail and Busy Bee mocktail purchased, with the funds benefiting Team One Busy Bee’s 6th Walk to End Alzheimer’s. This thoughtful gesture added a deeper meaning to the celebration, turning each drink into a contribution toward an important cause.

The spirit of the evening was further enhanced by our fundraising efforts. Together, we raised a couple of hundred dollars for Team One Busy Bee, a testament to what a dedicated community can achieve when they come together with a common purpose. The funds raised will make a meaningful impact, supporting initiatives that matter to us all.

I want to extend a special thank you to my cohost Maribel Aparicio of Allied Mortgage, whose efforts in promoting the event and rallying our community were indispensable. Thank you to Harmony and Kelvin of The Kaveh for working the registration desk, handing out welcome bags and explaining the event details. It was wonderful to see highlighted attendees and community members step up, participate enthusiastically, and enrich the experience with their presence.
As we look back on this successful #WomenWednesday event, we are already gearing up for the next gathering. Mark your calendars for a wine tasting event on July 23rd at Straw Hat Pizza in Hayward, cohosted with The Wine Shopper and Maribel Aparicio. This time, $10 from your wine and food pairing will go directly towards supporting the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Look out for our featured vendors, including Nayyara’s Design and Nichole from Color Street, who will add their unique flair to the evening.

The #WomenWednesday event was more than just a gathering; it was a celebration of community, empowerment, and the kind of inspiration that sparks new ventures. We leave the evening with wonderful photos, cherished memories, and a renewed commitment to supporting one another. Thank you to everyone who joined us, and here’s to many more events that bring our community closer together.
