I talk a lot about creating memorable experiences for clients (#EndAlz!), but every once in a while, it’s nice to put the event planner hat down and simply open the door and enjoy the party.
I recently hosted something at my home for the first time in a very long time, and it reminded me exactly why I love bringing people together.
The guest list was a mix of amazing women entrepreneurs and go-getters, great friends and neighbors, a few new connections, and even a couple of cool, supportive dudes. Different personalities, different businesses, different stories—and somehow, it all worked.

I opened bottles from my personal wine collection that had been waiting patiently for more than a decade. I put my charcuterie skills to the test, welcomed appetizers and desserts guests brought along, and even found myself educating a young fellow PR professional about wine.
But the best part wasn’t the wine or the food.

It was the conversation.
We talked business, life, travel, relationships, community and everything in between. There were introductions, unexpected connections, plenty of “How do you know Bernadette?” moments—and enough laughing to keep us going until 2 a.m.
And after all of that?
We only opened seven or eight bottles.

Apparently, I have some work to do. I have A LOT more wine to get rid of!
This gathering was a great reminder that one of my favorite things about event planning isn’t necessarily the logistics, décor or timeline. It’s connecting good people.
Put the right people in a room, give them something delicious to sip, create a comfortable environment, and let the conversations happen. Sometimes the most memorable events aren’t the ones with the biggest budgets or elaborate production. They’re the ones where people feel welcome enough to stay until 2 a.m. because they’re having too much fun to leave.
So yes, I’ll be doing this again.
Another wine night is coming. Consider yourself invited. Good vibes only.
Thank you to everyone who came, contributed to the food and wine, shared a story, laughed until your cheeks hurt and made my home feel full again.

And yes… I’ll plan another one soon.
